Overview

Orbit tracks Roblox activity by reading from your exported session logs and syncing them to the workspace timeline. Follow these steps to connect your game with the monitoring pipeline.

Step 1 – Configure the Activity panel

  1. Open Settings → Activity from the workspace sidebar.
  2. Select the Roblox group role that represents the lowest rank you wish to observe.
Selecting a role includes all ranks that are equal to or higher than it in the tracking window.

Step 2 – Import the Orbit loader

  1. Download the latest loader from the Activity panel.
  2. In Roblox Studio, right-click ServerScriptService → Insert from File and choose the loader.
  3. Locate the generated OrbitActivity script and open the Configuration section.
  4. Update fields such as minutesTillAFK, minTrackedRank, groupId, rankChecking, cooldownPeriod, and bansEnabled.
  5. Save and publish your place.
Roblox requires HTTPS for outgoing requests. Enable HTTPS in Studio before saving the script. Need help? Roblox HTTPS docs.

Step 3 – Verify incoming data

Once published, Orbit polls events from your game. Expect data to arrive within a few minutes—use the Activity feed to confirm members are appearing.
Use the Activity feed filters to confirm only the expected roles appear before widening the rank threshold.

Troubleshooting checklist

  • ✅ Script enabled in Roblox Studio.
  • ✅ HTTPS service turned on in your game settings.
  • ✅ Configuration values correct aside from secrets (do not modify URL or AUTH).
  • 🛠 Self-hosted? Check your Orbit server logs for HTTP/timeout issues.

Getting support

  • Planetary Cloud: Use the live chat in the dashboard for fast replies.
  • Self-hosted: Join Discord (support channel) and include X-Request-ID from the Orbit logs if you hit API errors.
Automate a daily health check by exporting recent Activity entries via the /activity API and validating new entries count.
